Kansas City Chiefs’ Chris Jones gets Madden 24 rating. He’s top DT after Aaron Donald
Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones will be the No. 2 player at his position in Madden 24, according to rankings for the upcoming video game made available by EA Sports on Tuesday.
Jones, rated a 96 overall by game developers, trails only Los Angeles Rams mauler Aaron Donald, who was rated a 99 overall.
The New York Giants’ Dexter Lawrence (94), the New York Jets’ Quinnen Williams (93) and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Cam Heyward (93) round out the top 5 at defensive tackle.
Jones was the No. 4 defensive tackle (91 overall) behind Donald (99), Vita Vea (93) and Jonathan Allen (92) to start last year’s Madden 23.
A Chiefs second-round pick in 2016, Jones recorded 17 tackles-for-loss and 15.5 sacks across 17 starts in 2023 — his seventh season in Kansas City. Currently, Jones is entering the final season of a four-year, $80 million extension signed in 2020.
EA Sports released its wide receiver and safety ratings on Monday, but no Chiefs players cracked the top 10 at their position there, nor in the edge rusher ratings unveiled Tuesday.
EA Sports will drop running back and offensive line ratings Wednesday, cornerback and tight end ratings Thursday and quarterback and linebacker ratings Friday.
Last year, Patrick Mahomes was the No. 3 quarterback (95), Travis Kelce was the No. 1 tight end (98) and Joe Thuney was the No. 5 offensive guard (88) to start Madden 23.
Madden 24 will be available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC Steam platforms on Aug. 18 with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen as the cover athlete.
