The St. Louis Blues officially unveiled their NHL Winter Classic uniforms on Wednesday and they are a throwback style to the team’s original jerseys in their inaugural 1967-68 season.

Attractive features include the original blue color, original Blue Note logo and gold ribbed collar from the team’s first NHL season.

The Blues and Blackhawks will square off in the NHL Bridgestone Winter Classic outdoor game Jan. 2, 2017 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

“It’s not just me who is excited to wear this for the Winter Classic. It’s the whole team, the community and our families,” Blues captain Alex Pietrangelo said on the Blues’ team web site. “The Winter Classic has become a pretty cool event for our organization, and a lot of time and effort has gone into it. We’ve all grown up playing in backyard rinks, and to be able to do it for real — while wearing this sweater — is going to be pretty special.”

The Blues Winter Classic jerseys are available for purchase at the True Blues Authentic Team Store at Scottrade Center or online at STLAuthentics.com. Any jersey ordered from those locations will include the authentic Winter Classic patch.

The Blues (7-4-2) play host to the Blackhawks (9-3-1) at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Scottrade Center.
