Blues activate Steen in time for Blackhawks showdown
The St. Louis Blues will get one of their skating wounded back in time for their rivalry game Wednesday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Center Alexander Steen, who has been unavailable since injuring his hand in the Blues’ first preseason game, has been activated from the injured reserve the team announced.
He’ll be on the ice when the Blues and Blackhawks tangle at Scottrade Center at 7 p.m. The team placed Wade Megan on waivers to make room on the roster.
Steen last season scored 16 goals and had 31 assists in 76 games.
Still missing from the Blues’ lineup will be Robby Fabbri (left knee), Jay Bouwmeester (ankle), Zach Sanford (shoulder) and Patrik Berglund (shoulder).
The Blues have lost two games in a row after winning four of their first five. They are in second place in the Western Conference Central Division, just a point behind Chicago.
