Blues’ Ott sidelined for at least three months; will undergo surgery on hamstrings
St. Louis Blues veteran forward Steve Ott will be sidelined at least three months after undergoing surgery on his hamstrings resulting from a first-period injury Saturday against the Toronto Maple League.
The team said surgery is scheduled for next week.
Ott missed a check on Toronto defenseman Dion Phaneuf and landed awkwardly along boards. Ott was taken to the locker room for evaluation and did not return.
He had two assists and 34 penalty minutes in 21 games this season.
This is Ott’s third season with the Blues after being acquired from the Buffalo Sabres in the same March, 2014 deal that brought goaltender Ryan Miller here.
Ott is the third player currently on injured reserve for the Blues, joining forwards Jaden Schwartz (fractured ankle) and Patrik Berglund (shoulder).
Also on Sunday, the Blues recalled defenseman Petteri Lindbohm from their American Hockey League affiliate in Chicago and sent down rookie defenseman Joel Edmundson.
Lindbohm, who played well during a promotion to the Blues last season, had two goals and seven points in 20 games for the Chicago Wolves.
