Body recovered in Southern Illinois lake
The body of man was recovered in Rend Lake on Wednesday, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department told WSIL.
The name of the person was not immediately released, but officials said the man was 83 years old from Ina.
According to WSIL, investigators believe he fell into the lake. He was reported missing by family members about noon, and his body was found at 2:30 p.m.
Multiple agencies, including the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Franklin County Emergency Management Agency, had been searching for the person in the lake south of Mount Vernon, according to reports.
