The man’s identity was not immediately released by police. St. Clair County Sheriff Rick Watson on Saturday evening said deputies were trying to determine what happened to the man.

The man’s body was near his vehicle.

Sheriff’s Lt. Alan Haake said police are not sure whether the man was ejected from his 1988 blue Chevrolet truck during a crash or whether he got out and suffered some type of health problem.

The man’s body was found in the Doza Creek.

“He was deceased when the deputy arrived on scene,” Haake said.

The sheriff’s office received a call about the vehicle at about 12:10 p.m.
