Two killed in two-vehicle accident in St. Clair County

Two people died in a two-vehicle crash in Cahokia Heights early Monday morning.

The accident occurred at Ruby Lane and Illinois Route 3 in Cahokia Heights.

The identities of the two people who died have not been released, pending notification of family.

Police received a call reporting the crash at 12:20 a.m. , Cahokia Heights Police Chief Thomas Trice said.

“Two vehicles were involved, a silver SUV with two deceased victims in it, and a black pickup truck with two people in it. They were not injured,” Trice said.

Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction team was called in two process the scene.

“Cahokia Heights investigators are conducting a police investigation,” Trice said.
