Eight departments fight fire at Alorton building
Firefighters from several area departments battled an early-morning blaze Friday in Alorton.
The fire was reported at 3:30 a.m. in a mostly vacant brick warehouse building near the village’s border with Centreville. It was occupied only by a fruit stand, according to fire department reports.
At least eight area fire departments responded to fight the fire.
The building appeared to be a total loss with its roof and parts of walls collapsing.
There was no word early Friday about the cause of the fire.
