Woman hospitalized in Belleville mobile home fire

The occupant of a mobile home that burned on Arapaho Drive in Belleville Wednesday suffered smoke inhalation and was hospitalized, Belleville Fire Chief Tom Pour said.

The fire was first reported around 5 p.m. Crews arrived to find the front part of the mobile home engulfed in flames, but the fire was quickly doused.

A cat was killed in the fire. Firefighters’ attempts to administer oxygen to it were not successful.

The front part of the mobile home sustained major interior and some exterior damage, but the rest only sustained smoke damage.

Pour said fire investigators were en route to determine how the fire started.
