Fishing trip ends in flames as boat burns at Alton Marina

No one was injured Sunday in a dramatic boat fire at the Alton Marina.

According to fire department reports, a fishing boat was being refueled about 11:30 a.m. when gas vapors ignited. The boat burned furiously and was destroyed.

Occupants of the boat, which was in a narrow channel between a dock and the shore, escaped without injury.
