No injuries when small plane goes down at Brooklyn; Illinois 3 reopens
Brooklyn Fire Department responded to an “aircraft incident” midday Saturday at Illinois 3 and Interstate 70, according to St. Clair County Emergency Management Agency.
A small plane went down. There were no injuries, according to the EMA.
Two people were aboard the small plane and got out uninjured, according to the Illinois State Police. ISP received the call at noon. State Police, at the request of the Federal Aviation Administration, closed Illinois 3 near the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge.
Fairmont City Police reported the highway was reopened after 3 p.m.
