MoDOT plans lane, ramp closures in downtown St. Louis

Motorists around downtown St. Louis City can expect to encounter several interstate lane and ramp closures scheduled for this weekend, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Work is planned to prepare for renovations along southbound Interstate 55/westbound Interstate 44 over Third Street (between Interstate-64 and the I-44/I-55 interchange) and continuing work on the I-44/I-55 interchange.

Long-term lane closures include

▪  All lanes on the ramp from the westbound Poplar Street Bridge to southbound I-55/westbound I-44 are scheduled to close at 8 p.m. Friday. One lane of the ramp is scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Monday. One lane on the ramp is planned to be closed through December.

▪  The ramps from Seventh Street entering and exiting southbound I-55 are scheduled to close at 8 p.m. Friday and will remain closed until December. MoDOT said detour signs will be in place.

Other closures are planned for this weekend

▪  The ramp from the westbound Poplar Street Bridge to Walnut Street and the ramp from South Memorial Drive to westbound I-44/southbound I-55 are scheduled to be closed from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

▪  The express lanes are scheduled to be closed from 7 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
