Woman’s body is found in Mississippi River
The body of a woman was found about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, washed up on the East St. Louis riverfront.
East St. Louis Police Chef Michael Hubbard said the body is possibly that of a white female. It appears to have been in the water for about two weeks.
A forensic investigation was set to be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday by the St. Clair County Coroner.
A passerby spotted the body floating in the river. The woman’s identity, age and cause of death had not yet been determined, Hubbard said.
