Police are investigating the death of a 3-month-old baby boy whose father reported him unresponsive and not breathing.
No one has been charged in this case and, investigators wouldn’t say whether they expect charges. Police would only say that the incident is under investigation. East St. Louis Police Chief Michael Hubbard said police were called at 11:59 p.m. Thursday to the 1300 block of St. Louis Avenue to investigate the incident.
Hubbard said the infant had been in the home with his father and two other children, while the baby’s mother was at work. “The infant reportedly rolled over to the floor,” Hubbard said.
The infant was transported to Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville where he was pronounced dead. Hubbard said DCFS had been contacted.
