New Orleans-style restaurant is now open in downtown Belleville. Here’s what we know

The Quarter Restaurant in downtown Belleville is now open.

The New Orleans-inspired restaurant opened Thursday, Aug. 26. For at least the first week or two, the restaurant will be open for dinner starting at 4 p.m.

The dinner menu can be found on The Quarter Restaurant website, and it offers a variety of appetizers, entrees, pastas, burgers and more. Items on the menu include fried green tomatoes, New Orleans jambalaya and The Big Easy, a blackened 10-ounce grilled New York strip steak “with a Cajun seasoning, compound butter in a bourbon, mushroom & onion cream sauce on a bed of spinach.”

When the restaurant extends its hours, it will also offer a lunch menu that will soon be added to the website. For now, guests can look forward to daily specials, specialty drinks, draft and craft beers, and desserts. Pineapple upside-down cake, anyone?

As you know from my post earlier this week, I visited the restaurant Tuesday before it opened and after a storm passed through Belleville. Owner Brandon McGraw was tidying up outside after the storm blew down the construction barrier outside the restaurant.

He said then that they hope to be ready for customers later in the week.

Current plans are to have a grand opening in early October.

The Quarter Restaurant is also looking for workers. Applicants can apply at quarterrestaurant.com.

The Quarter Restaurant is located at 126 E. Main St. in Belleville. Current hours of operation will be 4-9 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, 4-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. They are closed Monday-Tuesday. Watch for updated hours on The Quarter Restaurant Facebook page.
