Poll update: See which southwest IL restaurants are leading the poll. There’s still time to vote
Our latest restaurant poll – favorite restaurant to open in 2022 – is well underway, and nearly 250 votes have been cast so far.
I thought it’d be a good idea to give readers a little update before the Christmas holiday.
(Really I wanted to remind everyone of the poll so you have something to do while hunkered down during this I’m-cold-like-Jack-Torrance-at-the-end-of-“The Shining” weather.)
With 22 different restaurants to choose from, I get that it may not be easy to choose just one. That’s the beauty of being able to vote more than once (just refresh the page after each vote).
Here are the standings as of Thursday afternoon:
Village Pizza To-Go, Smithton, is in the lead with 83 votes, followed by June’s Breakfast + Patio of Shiloh with 42 votes.
Smithton Kountry Market, another Smithton establishment, is in third place with 18 votes, closely followed by 1929 Pizza & Wine of Wood River with 16 votes.
The rest of our contenders, in order by number of votes, are as follows:
Clara B’s Kitchen Table, Belleville
Speak to Miss J, Lebanon
O’Town Food Hall and Tap House, O’Fallon
Papa Vito’s, Smithton
A&W Restaurant, Belleville
Hawaiian Brother Island Grill, O’Fallon
Wise Guys, Belleville
Edley’s Bar-B-Que, O’Fallon
Hi-Pointe Drive-In, O’Fallon
Tropical Breeze Café, Belleville
Dogwood Social House, O’Fallon
The Gasthaus (The Cobblestone), Lebanon
Wasabi Sushi Bar, O’Fallon
Golden Dragon, Belleville
Tony’s Tacos, Belleville
Tullaghan’s Irish Pub, Highland
Fanatics Sports Bar & Grill, Belleville
Get more info about each of these places from our handy dandy list of restaurants that opened in 2022. You can find it at https://bit.ly/3HCiqDh.
In the meantime, cast those votes! The more everyone votes, the more interesting the poll will be.
And the more I’ll have to write about in the next update.
The poll will be open through the first week of January. If you have trouble viewing the poll, try turning off your ad blocker.
