Ice cream restaurant opening in new Fairview Heights location with expanded menu
TC’s TREATS is all set to open at its new location.
Previously nestled in O’Fallon, the ice cream shop has moved to 10226 Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights in the former Title Max building, across the street from China King.
TC’s TREATS — owned by William and Malaika Chavous — has a scheduled soft opening Tuesday.
“We will feature our popular Philly Water Ice, premium ice cream, the ever popular TCs Dreams, shakes, sundaes and our ‘Snookie’ sandwiches. We make our water ice and ice cream fresh in our store!,” Malaika Chavous said.
The business also is adding subs, salads, all beef hot dogs and nachos to the menu, she said.
Malaika confirmed they purchased the current building in 2022 and recently completed renovations and expansion there. She explained why operations moved to Fairview Heights.
“Our previous landlords notified us they wanted to use their building that we were operating out of in O’Fallon to expand their own business. It’s a great location so I couldn’t blame them! But we decided we couldn’t afford that level of interruption to our business again, so we decided to purchase commercial property as a business investment. That proved to be more time consuming than we ever imagined,” she said in an email to the BND.
“As we thought about the future, looking for a great location, with high traffic, visibility and that we could grow into while meeting our current business needs and oh, and in our budget, was exhausting!”
TC’s TREATS will be open year round with current hours of operations from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., “taking time off occasionally for our team to enjoy time with family and friends,” Malaika added. She noted hours are subject to change.
Needless to say, they are thrilled to re-open.
“We are looking forward to serving old friends and new in TC’s new home,” Malaika said. “We found a great location in Fairview Heights we knew we could make our own! Working with the City of Fairview Heights, the SBA (Small Business Administration) and the Bank of Belleville, we were able to make our dream a reality. Renovation and expansion was a long process and we’ve lost most of this summer, but we are not deterred and so happy to finally be re-opening.”
