An Edwardsville eatery closes

An Edwardsville restaurant closed its doors this month after little more than a year in business.

The Mossy Stone Irish Pub, located at 871 S. Arbor Vitae, announced on social media that the doors would close at the end of business, Saturday, Oct. 12.

“We’ve been searching for a buyer who could keep Mossy Stone going, but unfortunately, it just hasn’t worked out,” stated a recent Facebook post.

“As heartbreaking as it is to say goodbye, we know there’s another plan ahead. We’re choosing to focus on the good — the friendships, the laughter, and the memories that will last far beyond these walls.”

The business opened last September under the ownership of Adam and Tracy Micun, Brandon Peterson and Tess Secor.

Mossy Stone offered traditional Irish fare such as Reuben sandwiches, shepherd’s pie, corned beef and cabbage, and of, course Guinness, at the former Mike Shannon’s grill site.

A Belleville business is under new ownership

The Suds N Bubbles car wash at 410 Sherman St. in Belleville has a new owner and is currently getting a makeover as well as a new name.

The business will become Belleville Clean and Lube, a car wash and oil change facility that’s part of a chain with multiple locations in Illinois and Ohio, some of which also offer detailing services.

The first phase of the renovation is complete, according to a social media post from Belleville Clean and Lube.

“We made some good progress, but it will still have a long way to go,” stated the post. “Follow along with us, and you can see our progress, hear more about what we will offer at our locations in Belleville and get the inside info on some great deals!”

A real estate site shows that the property was sold on June 26. The owner is listed as Michigan-based Clean and Lube Properties LLC on the online St. Clair County parcel map viewer.

A request for an interview to learn more about the development is pending.

For more info about Clean and Lube, visit cleanandlube.com.
