Latest coronavirus numbers in southwestern Illinois include St. Clair, Clinton deaths
St. Clair County and Clinton County each reported three new coronavirus deaths Wednesday.
This brings the total for St. Clair County to 30 deaths and included two females in their 70s with unknown health conditions and a male in his 80s with underlying health conditions. Clinton County, meanwhile, saw its death toll rise from one to four.
Overall, there were a total of 1,124 new coronavirus cases in the metro-east as of Wednesday, an increase from 1,066 on Tuesday. Furthermore, Wednesday saw 58 new cases reported in the metro-east as of late afternoon.
During the state’s daily COVID-19 news conference Wednesday, officials announced 2,253 new cases and 92 additional deaths. The announcement brings the statewide total of positive coronavirus cases to 50,355, and the total number of deaths to 2,215.
