Collinsville Schnucks employee has positive coronavirus test, company says
An employee at the Schnucks store in Collinsville has tested positive for COVID-19, but the store will stay open, the grocery store chain said in a statement released Monday.
Schnucks on Saturday learned of the employee’s test result. The employee last worked on Tuesday, May 19 in the store at 501 Beltline Road.
The employee did not have virus symptoms that day and is now quarantined at home, according to the company’s statement emailed to the BND.
“No one else is being advised to quarantine at this time, and the Health Department has not advised us that any specific actions should be taken by customers or anyone else,” the statement said.
“The store is open and we are continuing to follow all guidance from local, state, and federal agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), OSHA and the St. Clair County Health Department,” the statement said. “Upon learning of the diagnosis, we scheduled our third-party vendor to come in to disinfect the area where the teammate worked, including common areas like the restroom, breakroom, etc. to help make the store as safe as possible.”
The statement did not list where the employee worked in the store.
