St. Clair, Madison report 55 new cases of coronavirus but no deaths
St. Clair County reported no new deaths and 47 new cases from COVID-19 Tuesday while Madison County officials reported 8 new cases and no new deaths.
Monroe County also reported one new cases, while Perry County and Macoupin County each announced one new case.
Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health on Tuesday reported 724 new cases of the virus had been confirmed with 23 additional deaths.
Illinois has seen a total of 6,923 deaths during the pandemic as of Tuesday , officials reported. A total of 143,185 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, while nearly 1.5 million people have been tested for COVID-19, including 30,425 since Monday.

Free COVID-19 testing in O’Fallon in mid-July
The St. Clair County Health Department will offer free COVID-19 testing in O’Fallon Tuesday, July 14.
Testing will be offered at O’Fallon Family Sports Park at 301 Obernuefemann Road from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the north end of the park.
No appointments are needed. The sites will test adults and children who are 4 years old or older.
People who visit the mobile testing sites are asked to wear face coverings, such as a mask, and to bring photo identification and an insurance card if they have one.
Testing will be conducted through a throat swab.
