One Belleville man will get his chance to win a piece of a $85,000 jackpot in the game show “Divided.”
Sydney Adeniyi appears on the show at 9 p.m. Aug. 15 on Game Show Network, the premiere of the second season of the game show that describes itself as part game show, part social experiment.
In Divided, four contestants must come to a consensus on answers to each trivia and social survey question they’re asked. A ticking clock reduces the money they can earn for each second spent debating. Each round, more money is available to win, but it also gets more intense.
One contestant will be collectively eliminated, and for the final twist, the contestants must unequally divide the money between the three remaining members and come to a consensus on who gets which share. But if the clock runs out before they decide, they lose everything, and the more they argue and disagree, the less money they can take home.
Adeniyi is the most recent metro-east resident to participate in a game show. The Shaffer family, of Waterloo, competed on “Family Feud” in February; Shannon Hindahl, of Collinsville, finished second on “Jeopardy” in July; and 11-year-old Ava Wagner, of Belleville, participated in Food Network’s Kids BBQ Championship in June.
