Dick’s Sporting Goods will open soon

Dick’s Sporting Goods is expected to open its Fairview Heights location next month.

Shoppers can to check out the store at from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12 ahead of a grand opening celebration set for Oct. 13 at 6575 N. Illinois St.

The first 100 people in line Oct. 13 will receive a free Adidas t-shirt.

Dick’s has five stores in the St. Louis area, but this will be its first location in the metro-east. The company, based in Coraopolis, Pa., has agreed to sign a 10-year lease on the property, with an option to extend.

The site is the former Sports Authority location at Fairview City Centre.

Gift cards to the store will go to the first 100 people in line Oct. 14 and 15. The store is offering $10 off a $25 purchase during the grand opening celebration.
