Child killed, three others hospitalized following car accident in South Roxana
A 6-year-old girl is dead and three others have been hospitalized following a car crash on Illinois 111 in South Roxana.
The accident happened around 6:15 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of the state route and Broadway Avenue, KMOV 4 reported. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, one of them being a pickup truck.
South Roxana police responded to the scene and the Illinois State Police’s reconstruction team was called in to investigate the crash. Police told FOX 2 that at least one person was airlifted from the scene and that the person who died was a child.
The name of the victim has not been released yet. A representative from the South Roxana Police Department was not immediately available.
