Cahokia man walking on Interstate 64 struck and killed by semi

A Cahokia man was struck and killed by a semi truck after he walked onto eastbound Interstate 64 at Kingshighway on Tuesday.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. Identified the man as Aundrae Rogers,39, of Cahokia, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident was reported at about 1 p.m. and shut the highway down for about 90 minutes, according to Illinois State Police.

The driver of the 2005 white Freightliner tractor-trailer was Scott G. Behrmann, 56, of St. Libory.

State police are still investigating the incident. No other information has been released.

The death was the third on the stretch of I-64 in less than 24 hours.

Also on Tuesday, Dye identified Alando P. Harris, 47, and Cedric R. Gibson, 28, as the two men found shot to death in their car at milepost 3. Harris and Gibson also were residents of Cahokia. That investigation also is ongoing.
