Cahokia men found shot dead on Interstate 64 identified by St. Clair County coroner

Illinois State Police found the bodies of two men shot dead in a car on Interstate 64, near East St. Louis.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. on Tuesday identified the victims as Alando P. Harris, 47, and Cedric R. Gibson, 28, both of Cahokia. Harris was the driver of the vehicle in which the two were pronounced dead.

Troopers made the discovery after responding to a shots-fired call Monday evening. According a release from Trooper Joshua Korando, police arrived at the car at milepost 3, near the I-70 interchange, at 8:46 p.m.

Police have not released any information about possible motive in the shooting or of any suspects.

State police are asking anyone with knowledge of the shooting to call police at 618-571-4124 or St. Louis CrimeStoppers at 314-725-8477. CrimeStoppers is an anonymous tip line that pays up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
