Belleville couple injured when their motorcycle hit deer

A husband and wife from Belleville, both in their 70s, were transported to St. Louis hospitals after their motorcycle hit a deer, state police said.

Henry J. Gain, 75, and Mary Ann Gain, 73, were ejected from the green 1999 Honda Goldwing shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday. They were northbound on Illinois 150 near Chester Road in Randolph County when the deer ran off the west side of the road, according to Illinois State Police.

An ISP release stated that both suffered serious injuries, but their current condition is not available.
