Missing Cahokia father is not the kind to walk away from his family, police say
Police are looking for a Cahokia man who was last seen by is family on June 19.
Brandon J. Carson has three children between the ages of 5 and 7. It’s not like him to leave without letting his family and children know, Cahokia Police Capt. Dennis Plew said.
Marion Hudson, Carson’s mother said her son didn’t have any problems with anyone.
“I know mother’s always say nobody could say a bad word about their children, but in my case it is true. Carson would do anything for anybody,” she said. “I just want him back home safe and sound. He has three small children ... he loves them very much and he loves his mother. I love him.”
Hudson said she, her son and her grandchildren celebrated Juneteenth at their Cahokia residence last Friday. That’s the last time she saw Carson.
“We barbecued and talked about Juneteenth and what it is and means with the grandchildren,” Hudson said. “That was our way of taking a stand on the way things are in the world right now. ...
“I don’t want the great time we had on Juneteenth to be the last memory of us together.”
Hudson said she has barely slept since her son went missing and won’t be OK until she knows where he is. She is pleading with anyone who may have information to call the police, even if they do it anonymously.
“I have to know something,” she said. “I am praying that everything is alright.”
Plew said Carson was last seen in the late evening hours of June 19 in the area of Doris Avenue and Williams Street, near Range Lane and Cahokia High School. He described Carson as a dark-skinned black male, 5-feet, 10-inches tall, 145 pounds, thin build, dark, hair, mustache and full beard.
“He was wearing a white T-shirt, and black pants with a military logo on the leg,” Plew said.
Plew said Carson’s family told police he does not have any mental health issues or drug dependency.
Anyone who knows Carson’s whereabouts is urged to call the Cahokia Police Department at 618-337-9505. Or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-866-371-Tips.
