Medical examiner identifies East St. Louis shooting victim
Authorities have released the identity of a man who was fatally shot in East St. Louis on Thursday night.
The victim, Jerame Simmons, 30, died at a St. Louis hospital following the shooting on Natalie Avenue. His identity was released by the St. Louis Medical Examiner’s Office.
Simmons and another man whose identity was not released were shot outside of a home on Natalie Avenue, according to East St. Louis police. The second man was taken to the hospital in someone’s personal vehicle and survived, police said.
Several shell casings from a 9mm and a .40-caliber handgun were located at the scene of the shooting, police said.
No arrests have been made.
