Southwest Illinois man thrown from motorcycle, suffers ‘life-threatening’ injuries
A Jersey County man was airlifted to a St. Louis-area hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was thrown from his motorcycle in a two-vehicle crash Monday.
Winfred Tasker, 53, of Jerseyville, Illinois was traveling south on Illinois 67, approaching Kane Road, when he struck another car and was ejected, according to Illinois State Police.
Caydn Chapman, 18, of Kane, Illinois, was westbound when he turned into the intersection of Kane Road and Illinois 67, causing Tasker to hit the rear of Chapman’s vehicle, police said.
Tasker was airlifted to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the ISP release.
Chapman was cited for failure to yield at an intersection, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, disobeying a stop sign, and failure to wear a seat belt. He was not injured in the incident.
