Pi Day - not Pie Day - is coming up in the St. Louis region. Here’s a list of events
So Monday, March 14, is Pi Day, the annual celebration of the mathematical constant π.
That’s pi, not pie.
Don’t confuse it with a dessert pie, a meat pie or a pizza pie. Or National Pie Day, which was back in January.
Who am I kidding? Most aren’t at all confused by the difference, really, but still use it as an excuse to enjoy edible pies.
And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Eckert’s Country Store & Restaurant is marking the occasion with a pie promotion.
Eckert’s will give customers a free Dutch apple pie when they buy one at regular price. This offer is good on Sunday, March 13, and Monday, March 14.
(FYI — $1 from each Dutch apple pie purchase will be donated to Illinois Agri-Women. March is also Women’s History Month.)
Eckert’s Country Store & Restaurant is located at 951 S. Green Mount Road in Belleville. Place an order by calling 618-233-0513, x2.
On the other side of the river, there’s a whole other reason to celebrate Pi Day. The first three digits of pi – 3.14 (that’s why Pi Day is March 14) – is the area code for St. Louis.
Squeeze in some pi time between your St. Patrick’s Day plans with any of these St. Louis-area 314 Day events and deals:
