Portion of Old Collinsville Road through Belleville will be closed next week, IDOT says

A portion of Old Collinsville Road in Belleville will be closed for almost three full days next week, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.

The north-south road between Lebanon Avenue and West Boulevard will be closed to all traffic from 7 a.m. Tuesday until about 3:30 p.m. Thursday for intersection improvements that will accommodate bicycle and pedestrian path access.

Businesses south of Lebanon Avenue will be accessible via a marked detour route, IDOT said in a release Friday.

The work is being done by Hanks Excavating and Landscaping Inc.

IDOT says commuters should avoid the area if possible. Expect delays otherwise, IDOT says, and be alert for workers and equipment.
