Expect traffic delays on Illinois 111 in Madison County this week. Here’s what we know
The right lane of I-55 northbound and 70 eastbound in Madison County will be closed beginning Monday, July 11, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced Friday.
The closure is so IDOT can perform repairs to the structure over Illinois 111. All entrance and exit ramps will remain open, according to IDOT.
The repairs will take approximately two weeks — weather permitting.
IDOT encourages drivers to find an alternative route to avoid the work area. Those driving on the interstate should be aware of workers, changes in signs and conditions, follow posted speed limits and refrain from using mobile devices. Drivers can anticipate delays when driving through the area.
