The Illinois Department of Transportation announced lane restrictions on Interstate 255 through Collinsville throughout most of next week.

Beginning at 6:30 a.m. Monday, the right two lanes of northbound I-255, over the east-and west-bound ramps from I-55/70, will be closed, leaving a single lane.

The middle lane will lane is expected to reopen by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, leaving only the far-right lane closed. All lanes should be reopened by 4 p.m. Thursday, provided weather accommodates the scheduled work, according to an IDOT release.

All exit ramps from Interstate 255 will remain open during construction.

Work includes emergency bridge deck patching. In the meantime, IDOT says motorists can expect delays and should either allow extra time for trips through the impacted area or use alternate routes.
