State Sen. Darren Bailey, the Republican candidate for governor, was in Belleville this week

State Sen. Darren Bailey, GOP candidate for Illinois governor, and his running mate, Stephanie Trussell, visited Belleville on Monday, Sept. 19, as part of a 9-city campaign bus tour.

Their other stops are Quincy, Peoria, Rockford, Crystal Lake, Mundelein, Lisle, Homer Glen and McCook.

Bailey, who represents the 55th District in the Illinois Senate, faces Gov. J.B. Pritzker, a Democrat, in the November election.

Bailey’s Belleville stop included the Round Table Cafe on 64th Street.
