A Freddy’s restaurant is nearing completion in Belleville Crossing, located near at the intersection of Frank Scott Parkway West and Illinois 15 in Belleville.
A Freddy’s restaurant is nearing completion in Belleville Crossing, located near at the intersection of Frank Scott Parkway West and Illinois 15 in Belleville.

When I recently shared that area restaurant and business activity is hard to keep up with, I really wasn’t kidding.

Then again, trying to stay on top of the local goings-on does keep me busy. Almost busy enough to stay out of trouble.

Almost.

For now, I have more info to share with you about some other businesses in the area.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

When I last wrote about Freddy’s in Belleville, I shared that the restaurant was looking at a February opening.

Clearly, that didn’t happen.

However, the wait seems to be near its end for the new Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers location at 5570 Belleville Crossing St. in Belleville.

I recently reached out to Kim Huynh from the Freddy’s public relations team about when the new eatery might open.

Huynh replied via email, “Barring any unforeseen delays, our Belleville location is currently on track to open Tuesday, March 7.”

Fingers crossed that those looking forward to patronizing the new restaurant will soon get to do just that.

Stay tuned.

Curt Smith’s Outdoors

I got a call the other day from Tom Petrekovich, manager at Curt Smith’s Outdoors in Belleville.

Turns out the store was kept open after the end of last year as planned.

Petrekovich said they were able to remain in the building at 213 E. Main St., so the doors stayed open to continue selling the remaining merchandise.

The doors officially closed Feb. 11.

However, a lot of merch remains. Those items, as well as fixtures, furniture and miscellaneous items throughout the store, will be auctioned off in mid-March.

An online auction will take place Tuesday, March 14, on the Adam’s Auction website, with an open house preview on March 13, according to Petrekovich.

Keep an eye on adamsauctions.com for more info.

Chick-fil-A

A new Chick-fil-A location is now open in Glen Carbon at 2319 Troy Road.

The new location is part of the Orchard Town Center development at the Glen Carbon/Edwardsville border.

The development will also include a Meijer grocery store, an Olive Garden, a Club Carwash and a Plaza Tire Service. (More on this soon.)

Hours at Chick-fil-A are 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday. They are closed Sundays.

For more information about this location, call 618-391-0563 or visit chick-fil-a.com.

Agostino’s Italian Restaurant & Bar

Agostino’s recently announced on Facebook the permanent closure of its Fairview Heights restaurant.

That being said, that same announcement also stated that the Agostino family “hope to announce information regarding our new address in the very near future.”

I reached out to the owners. The reply I received stated that someone from the family would get in touch with me when a new address for the restaurant is established.

So fans of Agostino’s, it seems all is not lost. Hopefully there is new information soon so you will get to enjoy those fine meals again.

Christian Brothers Automotive

Christian Brothers Automotive recently announced its intention to bring a new location to the O’Fallon area.

“The foundation of our business model is rooted in the idea that as car care business owners and members of the community, we can lead our industry by example. Christian Brothers Automotive will earn O’Fallon’s trust in aftermarket automotive professionals through our interactions with each customer,” Donnie Carr, President and CEO of Christian Brothers Automotive, stated in a press release.

The Texas-based business is looking for individuals interested in owning a franchise around the O’Fallon area.

“We’re looking for leaders in O’Fallon who are hungry for continued personal and professional growth, and who wish to make an impact on their communities by running a profitable business that allows them to be able to give back,” Carr stated.
