Popular sports retailer reopens in its new and roomier Fairview Heights location
In case you missed it, Play It Again Sports is open. Again.
The store reopened at its new location in Fairview Heights, its third site since first opening at 1566 W. Highway 50 in O’Fallon in June 1993.
Store manager Brian Jordan said in a phone interview that everything is “working out well” in the new store.
In February, when news of the move was first reported, Jordan said that the new location would provide “more room to expand products we already have to offer.”
Since the move and reopening on May 23, Jordan and the staff are still settling in and making adjustments but are glad to have more space to spread out the merchandise.
“We’re getting there,” he said, but there’s “still stuff to do” and changes to be made.
He said they filled up the former location at 2015 W. Highway 50 in O’Fallon, making it difficult for customers to shop.
Now they have the space to provide customers with an easier shopping experience, according to Jordan.
Jordan also said they are coming up on the store’s 30th anniversary.
While nothing is scheduled at this time, he said he hopes there will be an event of some kind, either a grand reopening or an anniversary celebration.
Play It Again Sports, located at 22 Lincoln Highway in Fairview Heights, buys and sells new and used sports equipment.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
