Illinois State Police IDs three people killed in head-on collision in Madison County

Authorities on Saturday released the names of three people killed in a head-on collision in Madison County.

Chase Bowles, 21, of Alton; Emily K. Morton, 21, of Nixa, Missouri; and Jayda N. Fulkerson, 21, of Marine died in the crash on Friday, according to Illinois State Police.

The collision occurred at 3:44 a.m. on Illinois 4 just north of Old State Route 4.

Illinois State Police said in a news release that its preliminary investigation showed Bowles was driving southbound in a Buick Verano when he crossed the center line for unknown reasons, hitting Morton’s northbound Ford Escape. Fulkerson was Morton’s passenger.

All three were pronounced deceased at the scene.
