Metro-east Schnucks to show off new technical upgrades with customer appreciation party

A Schnucks store in Cahokia Heights wants to celebrate and thank customers for their patience as the store underwent a renovation over the summer.

Schnucks will host a customer appreciation day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Cahokia Heights store, located at 1615 Camp Jackson Road. Festivities start with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m.

Food and drink sampling will be available throughout the store, and the parking lot will feature additional samples, a food drive to collect items for the local food pantries and family activities, according to a press release.

The store received updates in every department and most of the 44,000-square-foot store.

Customers are now met with new flooring upon entering the store, new shelving, décor and fresh paint, according to the release.

The store also has new energy-efficient lighting throughout.

The deli, bakery and seafood departments have new updates. The produce, dairy and beer departments all have new refrigeration cases.

The Cahokia Heights store is one of the first to feature electronic shelf tags. The checkout stands are all new, and two self-checkout stations were added.

Schnucks has served the Cahokia area at this location since 1986. The store currently employs 61 teammates, stated the release.

Schnucks Cahokia is located at 1615 Camp Jackson Road in Cahokia Heights. Hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Sunday. The onsite CVS Pharmacy is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
