A new national thrift store is opening soon in Fairview Heights. Here’s an update
I’ve been getting calls and other messages from readers, asking when the St. Vincent de Paul National Thrift Store in Fairview Heights will open.
I have an update for you.
“I think it is safe to say that we should be opening around the second week of July,” wrote Jim Conley, National Store Support Manager, in an email reply to my latest inquiry.
“We are accepting donations at the actual store which is 10850 Lincoln Trail Suite 2,” he wrote.
Donations can be dropped off at the store from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“We are really in need of shoes, linens, electronics, and great quality furniture,” Conley wrote.
Other accepted items include men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, accessories and housewares, such as pots and pans, dishes, decorations and more. All donated items should be in good condition with no stains or damage.
Conley added that June will be spent putting final touches on the store so “the public has a great quality, great looking thrift store they can feel proud about having in their community.”
One hundred percent of the profits will go to charity.
Construction for the store started at the beginning of the year. Initially, the opening was planned for May.
