Funeral set for woman who died after crash near O’Fallon
The Troy woman who died after a crash near O’Fallon is being remembered by her pastor as “such a sweet person” to her husband and their four sons.
First Baptist Church of O’Fallon on Friday announced funeral arrangements for 35-year-old Cesilie N. Huebner.
“Cesilie was such a sweet person and a great wife and mother to her four sons,” Senior Pastor Doug Munton said in a statement. “We were all blessed by her life and her godly character. We are thankful for the promises of God and we know she is with the Lord. We take comfort in that. We ask for continued prayers and support for Cory and the boys.”
Huebner, who would have turned 36 next Tuesday, died Wednesday following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Scott Troy Road and O’Fallon Troy Road near O’Fallon, authorities said.
Huebner was on O’Fallon Troy Road and was turning onto Scott Troy Road to go south when her van collided with a semitruck going north on Scott Troy Road at 2:06 p.m. Wednesday, according to Master Sgt. Gary Brewer of the investigations unit at the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department.
Huebner was pronounced dead at 2:45 p.m. in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. has said.
A family member who was a passenger in Huebner’s van and the truck driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Brewer said.
The crash remains under investigation, Brewer said. The sheriff’s department received assistance from the O’Fallon Police Department, Illinois State Police and the state police’s accident reconstruction team.
First Baptist Church of O’Fallon said Huebner was a member of the church, and that she is survived by her husband, Cory, and their four sons, Jaxon, Levi, Maverick and Adler.
Huebner’s service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church at 1111 E. Highway 50 in O’Fallon, according to the church.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
“Please continue to pray for Cory and the boys,” the announcement states.
People can help the family by signing up to make a meal for them. A link to a Meal Train page was posted on the church’s KidsLife Facebook page.
