▪  Police continue to investigate a case of shots being fired early Tuesday in south Belleville. A person of interest has been taken in to custody. Click here to see the latest on the investigation.

▪  A man was seriously injured in a car crash Tuesday afternoon in the 4400 block of Old Collinsville Road. His trip to the hospital was delayed, because bad weather made it impossible for a rescue helicopter to be dispatched to take him to a St. Louis hospital.

▪  The Fairview Heights City Council voted against a proposed 37 percent pay increase for economic development director Mike Malloy during Tuesday night’s meeting. Malloy’s contract expired last May and was seeking a new contract that included a $26,000 raise, from $71,000 to $97,000 a year.
