Police investigate death of woman whose body was found in East St. Louis
A woman was found deceased on Monday in East St. Louis, according to Illinois State Police.
The East St. Louis Police Department requested assistance from Illinois State Police agents with a death investigation in the 1100 block of North 11th Street, where the woman’s body was found, according to a statement from Trooper Genelle Jones of the Illinois State Police.
The woman’s identify has not been released. St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. could not be reached for comment on Monday.
Jones did not specify what time Monday the deceased woman was discovered.
The investigation is ongoing and no further details are being released, Jones said.
