Which metro-east grocery stores close early for 4th of July? See holiday hours
Independence Day is Saturday, and the metro-east has several fireworks shows on the calendar. Many of this year’s events will be specially themed for America’s semiquincentennial. But will your regular grocery store be open for normal hours on the holiday to pick up supplies?
For those who need to mail a package or letter, U.S. Postal Service offices will be closed Saturday, although self-serve kiosks are available at some locations. Post offices will be open Friday with regular deliveries occurring.
The National Weather Service St. Louis office forecasts Belleville will see temperatures from 75 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit Saturday, with partly cloudy skies at night and a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms. St. Clair County, St. Louis and surrounding areas are under an extreme heat warning until 10 p.m. Friday.

Aldi
Aldi stores operate on limited hours for the Fourth of July. Belleville’s store will open at 8:30 a.m. and close early at 4 p.m.
Sam’s Club
Sam’s Club stores are open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for regular club members Saturday, with Plus member shopping beginning at 8 a.m.
Schnucks
Schnucks locations are open regular hours for Independence Day. The store at 800 Carlyle Ave. in Belleville is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Target
The Target store at 5601 Belleville Crossing will be open normal hours, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday.
Total Wine & More
The Total Wine & More located at 5905 N. Illinois St. in Fairview Heights will be open normal hours on the Fourth of July, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Walmart
Walmart locations will generally be open for regular hours on the Fourth of July. The store at 2608 Green Mount Commons Drive in Belleville will be open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
