Family-friendly ocean adventure awaits mini golfers inside Fairview Heights mall
If you’re looking for an activity to keep you busy without having to deal with this week’s high temperatures, consider a round of miniature golf at Putt Quest in Fairview Heights.
Located on the lower level of St. Clair Square next to the former Sears, Putt Quest: Ocean Odyssey offers 18 holes of themed miniature golf from father-and-son owners Dale Cameron and Carter Cameron.
The 10,000-square-foot course includes an ADA-accessible front nine and a putting green to warm up before teeing off at the first hole. The front nine features more straightforward obstacles than the back nine, and every hole incorporates sea creatures — from turtles and dolphins to jellyfish and sharks — with a kraken at the end.
The Camerons also have a jungle-themed Putt Quest location at Mid Rivers Mall in St. Charles, Missouri, which Carter Cameron said is smaller than the St. Clair Square facility.
Work at the Fairview Heights site started in mid-March, Cameron said.
Putt Quest still needs a few finishing touches and, in time, will likely receive upgrades — something Cameron enjoys implementing.
At the St. Charles Jungle Adventure location, he has added a water feature with a live goldfish pond and a fountain. The course also has a skee-ball-like hole with different point levels available.
