Don’t Miss This: Major Case Squad searching for answers in Cahokia

▪ Investigators continue to chase leads in a Cahokia home invasion and murder case. The Major Case Squad was activated Monday after the body of Jermion D. Conley was found in a home in the 100 block of Amelia Drive.

▪ A pair of attacks have kept Belleville police busy early this week. Investigators are searching for a suspect who assaulted a woman at 1:30 a.m. Monday on the bike trail near South Sixth Street and Centreville Avenue. Also on Monday, Debra M. Benesh was charged with aggravated battery after she allegedly attacked a pair of nurses at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

▪ Police in Collinsville are searching for three suspects wanted for battering a person in September at the American Legion on Vandalia Street. According to authorities, the victim of the beating received multiple facial fractures. Four people were charged with the attack but three of them continue to elude arrest.
