▪ Investigators with the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis are looking for clues in the case of a suspicious death of a Collinsville man.
Daniel Taylor, 68, was found dead in his home on Ostle Drive late Wednesday.
▪ An SIUE student was attacked and robbed of his headphones and cellphone on a busy part of campus.
According to campus police reports, the student was jumped by men who got out of a car while he crossed the South University Crosswalk near Harpin Drive.
▪ ”Ain’t that something?”
Workers at U.S. Steel’s Granite City Mill will be idled just two days after Christmas.
About 2,000 workers will lose their jobs Dec. 27 as part of what the company calls temporary layoffs due to a lack of demand for steel.
Workers are confident the plant will soon reopen because of the quality of the steel that is produced there.
