Swansea police car struck by motorist on Frank Scott Parkway
A Swansea police officer was taken to a local hospital late Saturday night after the police car was struck by a motorist.
At about 10:45 p.m., the officer was driving eastbound on Frank Scott Parkway, east of Route 159, when another driver pulled out from a side street and struck the officer. The police car spun around and into another lane of traffic, and the officer was pinned inside.
After eventually being able to exit the police car, the officer was transported to a hospital by ambulance. Swansea police confirmed Sunday that the officer had been released from the hospital and was in good condition. His name was not being released as of Sunday, and Swansea Police are deferring questions to the state police.
