▪  For two years, Belleville mother of five Alissa Jackson lied about her diagnosis of cancer. Supporters estimate Jackson received more than $35,000 in donations. She was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

▪  Mater Dei’s Nick Pollmann nails the game-winning shot with 2.5 seconds left in double overtime against Cahokia. Mater Dei advanced to the Class 3A Columbia Regional final with the 50-47 win.

▪  A mobile home fire at Arapaho Village in Belleville sent the female occupant to the hospital with smoke inhalation. The woman’s pet cat did not survive.

▪  Jill McMillin is a champion bodybuilder and a professor at Southwestern Illinois College. She talks about the importance of nutrition and using a trainer to reach fitness goals.
