Don’t Miss This: Stolen gun found during Belleville disturbance

▪ A man was taken away from a disturbance in Belleville in handcuffs Thursday afternoon after a disturbance that police said involved a stolen gun.
The weapon was found in a Chevy Tahoe sport utility vehicle parked across the street from a row house on 11th Street just north of West Main Street.
About a dozen police cars responded at just before 1 p.m. and surrounded a large group of people who were arguing in the street. It took about an hour to calm the situation.
Neighbors said there have been multiple disturbances at the site over the past two weeks.
▪ A $34-million, 26-acre development is in the works for Edwardsville.
The shopping center will include a Fresh Thyme grocery store, a Global Brew Tap House, McAlister’s Deli and other things are expected to pop up there.
The development will be constricted on Illinois 157 south of Governor’s Parkway.
▪ Two metro-east juveniles -- at 12-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy -- have been charged in connection with four stolen cars, a stolen gun and a burglary.
Before they were captured, the suspects were involved in a chase that started when someone noticed them driving a vehicle that didn’t belong to them. During the process, at least one shot was fired.
